War Horse Event Series

Southern Pines Equine Associates War Horse Event Series presented by Adequan®

unrecognized events, tailored for grassroots to international competitors

The Southern Pines Equine Associates War Horse Event Series (WHES), presented by Adequan®, is a premier competition series that continues to elevate the sport of eventing across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The WHES has grown exponentially year after year, attracting competitors, sponsors, and volunteers who are passionate about the sport and its development.

In partnership with the United States Eventing Association (USEA), WHES is proud to be a registered schooling show, providing competitors with an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in a recognized competition setting. As part of this collaboration, WHES will award select USEA full and supporting memberships to winners who are not currently members, fostering growth in the eventing community.

WHES remains dedicated to horse and rider development by offering dressage, cross-country, and show jumping schooling the day before each competition.

To help with the positive experience of our horse and rider competitors, the goal is to start the show jumping and cross country courses at a general level of difficulty and increase the level of difficulty over the course of the five events, with true Championship level courses at the November WHES Championship event.

With a strong commitment to education, safety, and excellence, WHES provides riders of all levels with a supportive and competitive environment to develop their skills, train young horses, and achieve their personal best.

Horse Health Forms & Documentation

Ensuring a safe environment to compete

To maintain the well-being of all equine athletes and ensure a safe environment for competition, we require all participants to submit up-to-date health documentation before entering the grounds.

Before stepping foot on the property, all horses must provide the following:

  • Negative Coggins Test: A valid Coggins test (dated within 12 months) is required for every horse.
  • Vaccination Records: Proof of current vaccinations, including EHV-1/EHV-4 (Equine Herpesvirus) and Equine Influenza, is mandatory. These records must follow the USEF vaccination protocol to ensure all horses are protected from communicable diseases.
  • Health Certificate: For out-of-state horses, a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) dated within 30 days of arrival may be required per state regulations.

By adhering to these policies, Carolina Horse Park strives to provide a safe and secure environment where horses and riders can focus on what matters most—excellence in equestrian sport. Thank you for helping us prioritize equine health and well-being!
