The Carolina Horse Park Foundation (CHP) is a 315 acre, nationally recognized, premiere equine competition venue located in Hoke County, NC. Founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization by equestrian enthusiasts, the Park is dedicated to the preservation of open space for equestrian and recreational purposes with multi-disciplined capabilities suitable for championship level equine competitions. In addition, it hosts other agricultural events and fun outdoor activities open to non-equestrians.
The Park hosts over 30 weeks of events each year. Educational programs include guided hikes, “Lunch with the Coyotes” and “Bats at Sunset” as well as Talks and Hikes with the Sandhills Prescribed Burn Association and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. The Carolina Horse Park also welcomes local schools to use the Park for educational purposes.
Equestrian events are open to spectators and include a variety of disciplines such as the Carolina International CCI and Horse Trial where top national and international athletes compete for some of the largest prize packages in the sport. The War Horse Event Series is in its 9th year and draws over 2000 competitors to the Park throughout its six month span. The Sedgefield at the Park Hunter Jumper Series is new for 2021 and has quickly become a favorite throughout the region.
