Carolina Horse Park sees record 350 horse registrations at Sept. Treehouse Event Series

With 315 acres and convenient amenities, Carolina Horse Park is more than an equestrian destination; it is a family-friendly space.

Sept. 5-7 saw the return of the running classic form and attracted about 600 people with 350 horse registrations and happy dogs on leashes. 

Volunteers make for a smooth operation in answering visitors’ questions and manning transitional points, and newbies are welcome to contact Dee Charbonnet at the office for volunteer opportunities. Volunteers come from all walks of life, from retired teachers to business executives, military residents and olympic competitors. Some local olympic competitors volunteer their equestrian experience, including Bobby Costello, Will Faudree, Sidney Elliott, Ariel Grald and Bobby Stephenson.

The Treehouse Event Series was a premier three-part USEA Recognized Horse Trials series that began in March with the Southern Pines Horse Trials, followed by April’s Longleaf Pines Horse Trials. The Sept. feature added the USEA Classic Series to the Five Points Horse Trials.

Throughout the series, competitors accumulated points for the championship presented at the Five Points Horse Trials.

Eventing is demanding for horses and riders, and as Executive Director Charles Pinnell explained, good horsemanship is a priority. After each phase, a qualified veterinarian or technician completes a health check on horses and riders are equally assessed. Continue reading…
