"Windy" Wednesday

The first of the Carolina Horse Park Winter Wednesday schooling shows was held Jan. 25, dubbed “Windy Wednesday” after 30 mph gusts cranked up mid-morning. Turnout was good in the jumper ring and fair in the dressage ring considering there were three clinics going on this week elsewhere in horse country (John Zopatti of Florida, Gretchen Verbonic of Tryon and Lynn Kimball Davis of Florida). Very few hunters braved the windy conditions.

Due to jumps blowing down, the show had to be canceled about 1:30 p.m. Kathy Gurley scored the jumpers, with the following
