ENTRY INFORMATION

*Please note the following change – Beginner Novice through Advanced: All levels will ride appropriate USEA 2010 Test B*

COMBINED TESTS

• Maiden: Intro A dressage test, jump course not to exceed 2′
• Beginner Novice through Advanced: All levels will ride appropriate USEA 2010 Test B, and jump USEA level-appropriate heights. Advanced and Intermediate will ride in a 20×60 ring; all others will ride in a 20×40 ring.
• $50.00 per Combined Test

DRESSAGE

• All tests offered, current editions, 20×60 ring
• $25.00 per test
  

A LA CARTE

• STADIUM ROUNDS: Each “extra” round is $15.00, and you will be placed at the end of the division. You must check in with the show secretary prior to the end of the division in order to be allowed to jump.

MISC INFORMATION

• No refunds after closing date.
  
• Severe weather cancellation announced by NOON, Friday, February 19, via WEBSITE.
  
• Casual attire, with appropriate footwear, and an approved helmet with harness for jumping.
• All USEA and/or USDF tack rules apply. Riders with unconventional tack may compete HC.
  
• Horses may wear boots and/or wraps. Braiding not required.
• Ribbons 1st-6th place.
• Ride times available online, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 18.
• Stabling available – $35.00/night/horse with a $40.00 muck deposit. Muck deposit destroyed if stall is stripped and swept upon departure.
  
• All non-competing horses must submit an entry form, coggins, and fee of $25.00.
• CHP reserves the right to split, cancel, and/or combine classes, and to add or substitute judges.
  
• ONE HORSE PER ENTRY FORM!
  
• Payment MUST accompany entry form.
  
• Negative Coggins and CHP release form required.
  

Cooper, of Hardwick, MA, has been designing exemplary courses around the country for many years. His extensive resume includes Poplar Place Horse Trials (Columbus , GA), Millbrook Horse Trials (Millbrook, NY),  Puhinui Horse Trials (Manukau City, NZ),  Morven Park Horse Trials (Leesburg, VA) and Plantation Field International Horse Trials (Unionville, PA). Tremaine states: “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to design at the CHP and I look forward utilizing the land and great attributes it has to offer.”

September 18-19, 2010

at the

Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, NC

This year we will use the two main sand rings on the barn side of the property. The main ring will feature a full offering of Hunter classes from 2’6″-3’6″. In addition we will feature a few jumper classes at the end of the schedule Saturday and in the morning Sunday provided we have at least 8-10 Jumper entries. We have also added some Walk-Trot classes on Saturday in Ring II and a Young Entry division on Sunday in the same ring. If entries warrant we may add an additional ring if needed.

You Do Not have to be an NCHJA Member to participate in the show. You must be a member of NCHJA for your points to count and/or to qualify for any NCHJA Sanctioned Medal Class. The show is open to any rider regardless of their normal show classification with USEF. Event Riders are always welcome to compete at our Hunter-Jumper Competitions as long as they follow any requirements that USEA may have in place.

This unrecognized event will feature a Open Hunter Classic held in the morning that may include a Handy Round over our expanded derby field.

At lunch time don’t miss the second annual Celebrity Bareback Puissance.

Following that we will hold an Open Jumper Classic.

All classes will be held on our wonderful grass Derby Field, featuring ringside parking and patron’s tent.

December Classic Horse Show

Recognized “A” by United States Equestrian Federation

Please join us December 2-5, 2010 for the 3rd annual December Classic at the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, NC.

We are recognized “A” by USEF and also sanctioned by NCHJA, SCHJA, and USHJA.

The Carolina Horse Park Foundation is non-profit facility dedicated to promoting land conservation and providing facilities for all levels of equestrian competitions. All proceeds from this competition will go directly into maintaining and improving the Carolina Horse Park.

Will food be available for purchase at Stoneybrook?
Yes, a variety of food vendors are available at The Shops at Merchants Crossing. We encourage you to join in on the tailgating tradition at Stoneybrook. Bring a picnic and the beverages of your choice on race day and enjoy with family and friends.

May I bring my own tent?
NO.  As a safety precaution, tents, canopies and tarps of any kind are not permitted.  Tents are available for rent prior to March 18 through the Stoneybrook Office (910-875-2074).

Is there legalized gambling as part of the race meet?
The state of North Carolina does not have legalized para-mutual wagering.

What is the typical attire worn at the steeplechase races?
The Stoneybrook Steeplechase encourages all participants to dress as they feel comfortable. This is a day in the country to be enjoyed by all, so while you will see outfits and hats of all types, we suggest you do wear sensible shoes due to the turf and terrain.

How do I purchase tickets?
You may call the Stoneybrook Ticket Office directly at the Carolina Horse Park, 910-875-2074, purchase tickets on line at http://www.carolinahorsepark.com/stoneybrook/ticket-sales or you may purchase tickets directly at one of our many outlets listed on the website.

Will I be refunded in the case of inclement weather?
The races are run rain or shine. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any refunds.

How large is a reserved parking space?
Spaces are approximately 10’ wide by 20’ deep.  Please center your vehicle in your space.  Nothing larger than an SUV will be allowed in the reserved parking area.  No panel trucks, large passenger vans or minivans will be allowed (there are reserved spaces available for these vehicles).

How many people will fit comfortably in each reserved tailgate space?
As a courtesy to others, we recommend no more than 15 people plus a car occupies each reserved tailgate space.

Are children admitted free of charge?
Yes, children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

May I bring my pet?
Sorry, due to potential risk to spectators, riders and horses, pets of any kind are not allowed at the Stoneybrook Steeplechase.

What are The Shops at Merchant’s Crossing?
Food, Stoneybrook logo wear, and a variety of specialty items can be found under the festive tents in the middle of the in-field.

When do the gates open and what is closing time?
Gates open at 9:30 AM and we ask that you be in your reserved parking space no later than 11 AM.  Post time for the first race is 1:30 PM.  The gates close at 6 PM.
