PIPE OPENER I AND II
A “Pipe Opener” in the horse racing world refers to an exercise at moderate speed, to get the windpipe open and get things moving. We like to offer these combined tests at the beginning of the year to help our competitors and their horses “open the pipes” before the competition season. By offering just stadium and dressage, this is a good way to ease back into the swing of things before spring! Since these CTs are held on Saturdays, we have scheduled cross-country schooling days on the Sunday following – consider booking a stall and making a whole weekend out of it!
Pipe Opener I: Saturday, January 23 (Click here for results)
Pipe Opener II: Saturday, February 20 (Click here for results)

STARTER HORSE TRIALS
Our Starter Horse Trials are a great way to introduce young or inexperienced horses and riders to the concept of competition, without any undue stress. We run all three phases, just like a recognized horse trials, but competitors are allowed to wear casual, comfortable clothing (along with standard safety equipment such as helmets and vests).
The Green-as-Grass courses are with low and inviting fences around the 18″-2′ mark. The Green-as-Grass dressage test is a USDF Intro test. Our Maiden course runs through the infield, as well, but includes an optional run through a water complex, and the fences generally range from 2′-2′3″. The Maiden dressage test is a Beginner Novice USEA test. Beginner Novice and Novice are run as according to current USEA rules.
Our 2010 Starter Horse Trial dates are as follows:
Sunday, July 18: Green-as-Grass, Maiden, and Beginner Novice
Sunday, November 21: Green-as-Grass, Maiden, Beginner Novice, and Novice
