Hunter/Jumper
The Carolina Horse Park will host three USEF “A” and two NCHJA “C” recognized competitions each year. The “A” dates for 2010 are May 13-16 & May 20-23, 2010 and December 2-5, 2010. The “A” shows will be sanctioned by NCHJA, SCHJA, VHSA, and USHJA. The shows hold a number of classes for all levels of hunter competitors from short stirrup to the Regular Working Division. Classes in the jumper ring range from 0.85m through 1.35m, and include a Children’s-Adult Classic on Sunday during each show. In addition we will hold a $2500 Speed Derby at the May Benefit.
The date for our NCHJA “C” show will be October 16-17, 2010. The “C” shows will feature classes for all levels including Pleasure Hunter, Young Entry, Fox-hunter Divisions, and many sections that are suitable for young horses. The “C” shows provide a great opportunity to show at an “A” show level for an economical price. We uphold the same standards of equipment and staffing at our “C” shows that we do at our “A” shows. As the horse park expands it’s operational capabilities we will add several new NCHJA “C’ and USEF “A” competitions.
The Carolina Horse Park also hosts several schooling shows and ticketed warm-up opportunities throughout the year. Please check our schedule of events for current listings and contact information.
The horse park has two large all weather show rings that are used for the hunter classes with comparable schooling areas adjacent to the rings. The jumpers are held on a 200 x 300 grass field that has been re-seeded and improved since our May Benefit show in 2008. We now have 196 permanent state of the art stalls with heavy duty rubber mats and electrical outlets at every stall. We have over 250 acres of cross country course and trails available for competitors to utilize for hacking and walking out after you show.
The Carolina Horse park has been designed with our equine friends in mind. Finding a spot to lounge or pick grass won’t be a problem here. We may be a little further out of town than some places, but I think you will find your horses happiness is worth the drive.
